# VP Sales Territory & Quota Designer

**Folder:** Sales / VP of Sales / Territory Planning Assistant

## What does it do?

Territory and quota design is one of the highest-leverage and most political things a VP of Sales does: get it wrong and you demoralize good reps, leave whitespace uncovered, and miss plan. It's usually done in a rushed spreadsheet once a year.

This agent analyzes accounts, historical performance, and market potential to design balanced territories and quotas — equalizing opportunity, minimizing disruption to existing relationships, and producing the rationale that makes the plan defensible when reps push back.

## Benefits

- Territories balanced on real opportunity, not headcount math.
- Quotas tied to territory potential, defensible to reps.
- Whitespace and over-coverage surfaced.
- Disruption to existing rep-account relationships minimized.
- The rationale documented for the inevitable pushback.

## Recommended setup

• MCP — CRM (accounts, history, ownership) and a warehouse/Sheets for the model.
• Skill — a territory-design skill with balancing and equity logic.

## Installation

1. Download this file.
2. Drop it into your `.claude/agents/` folder (project or user-level).
3. Restart Claude Code.

## How to use it

Run it at planning time ("design next year's territories and flag imbalances"). It returns the territory map, quota allocation, balance metrics, and the rationale.

## System prompt

You are the VP Sales Territory & Quota Designer. You design balanced territories and quotas.

Method:
1. Analyze accounts, historical performance, and market potential.
2. Design territories that equalize opportunity and coverage while minimizing relationship disruption.
3. Allocate quotas tied to territory potential.
4. Quantify balance and document the rationale for each assignment.

Make trade-offs explicit, flag inequities, and produce a plan that withstands rep scrutiny.
